WhatsApp Bot, WhatsApp Mini Bot and WhatsApp MD Bot: Pairing Guide
Erfan MD helps you link a WhatsApp number to a command-based bot using a pairing code. This guide explains what a WhatsApp bot is, how a WhatsApp mini bot differs from a WhatsApp MD bot, how to connect, which commands to try first, and how to keep your account safe.
- WhatsApp bot
- A program linked to a WhatsApp account that reads messages and replies or acts on commands.
- WhatsApp mini bot
- A compact, quick-start bot setup with core commands that runs on a server, not on your phone.
- WhatsApp MD bot
- A bot that connects as a multi-device linked device, which you can link with a pairing code.

Erfan MD is an independent third-party website. It is not WhatsApp or Meta. WhatsApp warns that unofficial apps and websites are not supported and may put accounts at risk, so read the official linked-device guidance before you connect. Available features depend on the server and its configuration.
WhatsApp Bot: What It Is and How It Works
A WhatsApp bot is a program that reads messages arriving on a linked WhatsApp account and responds with a reply, a menu or an action. With Erfan MD you request a pairing code on this page, link your number from the Linked Devices screen, and then send commands from your own chats. No app download is needed.

A WhatsApp bot watches the chats on the account it is linked to and reacts to what it sees. The reaction may be a fixed answer, a list of commands, a group-moderation action or a small task. The idea is simple: you type a short command, and the bot does the repetitive part for you.
The three parts of a working WhatsApp bot
- Your WhatsApp account. The bot attaches to your number as a linked device. You stay in control and can remove it at any time from the Linked Devices screen.
- A connection server. The bot code runs on a server, not on your phone. On the pairing panel above, each server shows how many slots are active and its limit (for example, a limit of 50).
- Commands and rules. The bot only does what its command list and settings allow. See the features page for the current list.
Common kinds of WhatsApp bot
- Command bots answer short typed commands such as a menu request.
- Auto-reply bots answer common questions when you are busy.
- Group bots help with welcome messages and basic group tools.
- Business assistants handle support questions, lead details and order confirmations. Read more in our WhatsApp bot for business guide.

WhatsApp Mini Bot: A Lightweight Way to Start
In this guide, a WhatsApp mini bot means a compact bot setup: a quick pairing step, a small set of core commands and nothing heavy to install. The bot runs on a server, so an older phone only needs WhatsApp itself. It is a sensible first step before you rely on more advanced features.

"Mini bot" is not an official WhatsApp term, and projects use it differently. Here it describes a small, easy-to-start setup. You do not host anything yourself, you do not edit code, and you begin with the basics.
Why people start with a WhatsApp mini bot
- Fast start. Pairing takes a few minutes with the code panel at the top of this page.
- Works with modest phones. The processing happens on the server. Your phone mainly needs a current WhatsApp and an internet connection.
- Low commitment. You can test a few commands, then unlink the device if it does not suit you.
What to check on a mini bot
- Send
.menuand read the list of available features. - Try one command at a time with a chat you control.
- Note any limit, cooldown or unsupported command.
- Keep the main phone active. WhatsApp can log out linked devices when the main phone stays offline for a long time; the Help Center states the current timeframe.
When you are comfortable, compare it with a full setup in the comparison table, or read the connection guide.
WhatsApp MD Bot: Multi-Device Explained
MD stands for multi-device. A WhatsApp MD bot connects to your account the way WhatsApp Web or a desktop app does, as a linked device. Because of multi-device support, a linked device can keep working without your phone holding a constant connection. Pairing by code lets you link without scanning a QR code.

Multi-device is a WhatsApp feature that lets you use the same account on more than one device. An MD bot uses that mechanism: it is added under Linked Devices and keeps its own session.
Pairing code versus QR code
A QR code needs a second screen to scan. A pairing code is typed into WhatsApp instead, using the option "Link with phone number instead". That is easier on a single phone, which is why this site uses a code. The official WhatsApp page on linking with a phone number explains the same idea for WhatsApp Web.
What varies between MD bots
- The command list and the prefix character.
- Whether the bot replies to everyone (public mode) or only to you (private mode).
- How sessions are stored and how long they last.
- Who runs the server and how problems are handled.
Many MD bots are built on community open-source libraries rather than anything official from WhatsApp, which is why the safety section below matters. Do not treat the label "MD bot" as proof that a feature works; test it.
WhatsApp Bot vs Mini Bot vs MD Bot
The three names overlap, which causes confusion. "WhatsApp bot" is the broad category. "Mini bot" describes a compact, quick-start setup. "MD bot" describes how the bot connects, as a multi-device linked device. One service can be all three at once. This table shows what each term usually tells you.

| Term | What it describes | Best for | Check before use |
|---|---|---|---|
| WhatsApp bot | Any program that reads and answers WhatsApp messages | Learning the basics and choosing a method | Who operates it and what it can access |
| WhatsApp mini bot | A compact setup with core commands and quick pairing | First-time users and light daily use | The command list, limits and cooldowns |
| WhatsApp MD bot | A bot that connects as a multi-device linked device | Linking by pairing code without a second screen | Session handling and how to disconnect |

How to Get a WhatsApp Bot Pairing Code
Use the panel at the top of this page. Choose a server that shows free slots, enter your number with the country code, and select Generate Pair Code once. An eight-character code appears, with a short cooldown before you can request another. Then enter it in WhatsApp under Linked Devices.

- Choose a server. Pick one that shows a real Active value and its limit. If the list is empty or shows
--, wait instead of resubmitting. - Enter your number. Use digits with the country code and no plus sign or spaces, for example 92 for Pakistan. Only link a number you own.
- Generate the code. Select Generate Pair Code once and wait. If the panel shows a cooldown (currently 30 seconds), respect it.
- Copy the code. Use Copy Code only after the eight-character code is shown.
- Link in WhatsApp. Open Linked Devices, choose Link a Device, then choose "Link with phone number instead" and enter the code. Menu wording can differ by phone and app version.
- Confirm. The bot sends a connected message that shows its command prefix and mode. Send
.menuto see what it can do.
How to disconnect
Open WhatsApp, go to Linked Devices, tap the bot's session and log out. Do this at once if you did not expect a request or if you no longer want the bot connected. The full walkthrough with troubleshooting is on How to Connect Bot.
.menuWhatsApp Bot Commands, Prefix and Modes
A command is a short message the bot recognises. After connecting, the bot tells you its prefix, which is a dot by default, and its mode. Send .menu to list the features. Public mode replies to anyone who messages you, while private mode replies only to you, so choose the mode deliberately.

Start with one command
Type the prefix followed by the command name, with no extra spaces. .menu lists what the connected bot supports. Treat that list as the source of truth, not an old video or post, because commands change between versions.
Public mode and private mode
- Public mode replies to anyone who sends a command. This suits a business number, but strangers can also trigger the bot.
- Private mode replies only to the owner. This is the safer choice for a personal number.
What the bot can be set up to do
- Send a broadcast message to people on your contact list who expect to hear from you.
- Show product or service listings inside the chat.
- Share links to your other social profiles in replies.
- Send automated follow-up messages.
Availability depends on the connected server and configuration, so test each feature on a chat you control. See the features page for details, and the blog for command guides.
WhatsApp Bot for Business Owners
Small businesses use a WhatsApp bot for three jobs: answering common questions quickly, capturing the details of people who ask about a service, and confirming orders or bookings. A bot works best as a first responder, with a human ready to take over. It should never replace honest, consent-based messaging.

Instant support
Slow replies lose customers. A bot can answer opening hours, prices and location at any hour, then hand the chat to you for anything it cannot answer.
Lead capture
When someone asks about a service, the bot can ask for a name and need, so you follow up with context instead of starting from zero.
Order and booking confirmations
A short automated confirmation reduces back-and-forth. Keep the message accurate and include a way to reach a person.
Rules to follow
- Message people who expect to hear from you. Never use scraped or purchased contact lists.
- Honour requests to stop right away.
- Test every automated reply before customers see it.
- Check WhatsApp's Business Messaging Policy for the rules that apply to you.
No bot guarantees more sales. Results depend on your offer and how quickly you follow up. The full guide is WhatsApp bot for business.
WhatsApp Bot Not Working? Common Fixes
Most problems come from one of four places: the server is unavailable, the number format is wrong, the cooldown is still running, or the linked device was logged out. Change one thing at a time and repeat the same test. Never share your pairing code, full number or session data when asking for help.

| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
Server list empty or shows -- | No server is available right now | Wait, then check again. Do not keep submitting the form. |
| No pairing code appears | Wrong number format or a server error | Use digits with the country code only, then retry once. |
| Message to wait 30 seconds | Request cooldown | Wait for the timer to finish. |
| WhatsApp rejects the code | Code expired or typed wrongly | Generate a fresh code and enter it promptly. |
| Connected but no replies | Wrong prefix, private mode or an unsupported command | Send .menu exactly as shown in the connected message. |
| Bot stops after some days | Linked device logged out | Check Linked Devices and reconnect only if you trust the operator. |
Still stuck? Use the contact page and share only the time, the server label and the error text. More fixes are in the FAQ page.
WhatsApp Bot Account Safety and Privacy
Linking any third-party bot carries risk. WhatsApp and Meta decide what happens to an account, and Erfan MD cannot control or guarantee those decisions. Link only a number you own, avoid bulk or unwanted messages, and disconnect anything you do not recognise. Read the Privacy Policy to see what the site handles.

- Account actions are WhatsApp's decision. Using unofficial tools can lead to restrictions. Erfan MD cannot promise that an account will never be restricted.
- A linked device works inside your account session. Link only a number you are comfortable with, and consider testing with a secondary number first.
- Know what is collected. Erfan MD states that it runs the server your WhatsApp links to and does not use your chats for its own purposes. Read the Privacy Policy for exactly what is processed and how to ask for deletion.
- Never share secrets. Do not post pairing codes, QR images, one-time verification codes, passwords or session files anywhere public.
- Respect recipients. No spam, no scraped lists, and always honour opt-outs. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Plan your exit. Know how to log out from Linked Devices before you connect.
Read WhatsApp's own Terms of Service and the linked-device help page so you understand the rules you are agreeing to.
Linked-Device Bot vs the Official WhatsApp Business Platform
A linked-device bot, like the ones set up through a pairing code, is different from the official WhatsApp Business Platform. The official platform is Meta's supported way to build business messaging into software, with onboarding and documented rules. Choose by the scale, budget and risk level your project can accept.
Read moreShow less
| Question | Linked-device bot | WhatsApp Business Platform |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Pair the account as a linked device with a code | Business onboarding, credentials and technical integration |
| Support from WhatsApp | Unofficial tools are not supported by WhatsApp | Supported, with documentation and policies |
| Typical user | Individuals and very small teams testing automation | Businesses that need messaging at scale |
| Main risk | Account restrictions and unclear data handling | Approval requirements, message rules and costs |
If your business depends on WhatsApp for revenue, review the official WhatsApp Business Platform documentation before choosing a method. For learning, testing and personal use, a pairing-code bot may be enough. Compare more options in the blog.
